Share Mediation Week 2026

Make your pledge by October 9, 2026 and tell us how you’ll introduce mediation to the people around you. Every commitment — one conversation or one hundred — moves this forward.

What Is Share Mediation Week?

Share Mediation Week runs October 18-24, 2026, anchored on Conflict Resolution Day — observed the third Thursday of every October since 2005. It’s a week when dispute resolution practitioners across the country do one simple thing at the same time: tell people mediation exists.

This October, help us spread the word about what mediation can do.

We’re asking you to make a personal commitment to reach out and tell people about mediation.

We’re going to reach out to hundreds if not thousands of your colleagues in this effort, but it starts with you.

Communities are splitting along political, ideological, and cultural lines. Conversations that used to happen aren’t happening, and disputes that used to get settled at the kitchen table now end up in court — or nowhere at all.

International Conflict Resolution Day

Mediation is built for exactly this. It gives people a structured way to be heard, to hear each other, and to reach an agreement they both had a hand in writing. Most people have never been told it’s an option.

Visit the Resources page for ready-to-use articles, slides, and social posts — and if you’ve made your own materials, send them to us so other practitioners can use them too.

How to Take Part

Make your pledge. Tell us who you’ll reach — your PTA, your bar association, your congregation, your neighbors. Takes two minutes.

Pick up your materials. Free articles, a Canva slide deck, a social reel, and a letter-to-the-editor template are waiting on the Resources page. Use them as-is or make them your own.

Share during the week of [CONFIRM DATES]. Post it, present it, send it, say it out loud. Then tell us how it went.

How It Works

Associations and firms

Carry the ask to your members and staff. One email from you reaches hundreds of practitioners we’d never get to directly.

Individual practitioners

Commit to one public presentation during the week. Solo or on a panel. Any audience, any format, in person or online.

Shared library

Take a ready-made deck, article, or reel. Adapt it. Then upload yours so the next person doesn’t start blank.

What You're Committing To

One public presentation on mediation, sometime during October 18-24, 2026. You choose the audience, the topic, and the format. Speak alone or join with colleagues — a panel counts, and so does a fifteen-minute slot at a meeting that was already happening.

Takes about three minutes. Your email stays private.
